a little bit of sad among alot of happy...

after church today we went to dinner at our favorite hangout with our friends the fears... after that we headed to the state capital building to see the CHRISTmas tree...

we trekked up to the third floor to watch the olympia christian high school hand bell choir... didnt know they were going to be there... very nice surprise... the tree was very beautiful...

as we spent some time looking around we were able to see the controversial 'atheist' sign which read..." At this season of THE WINTER SOLSTICE may reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds."... and the new rebuff sign in green stating the rebuttal... " At this season of CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS may reason and hope prevail. There is a GOD, a devil, angels, a Heaven and hell. There is much more than the natural world. Atheism is but a myth and deception that hardens hearts and enslaves minds."

there were also a couple of handmade signs quoting various scriptures...
the nativity scene was the scene that started this whole thing... it was donated a couple of years ago... and this year the others came to be seen here...

the snow fell and we left the capital... i felt sad... not mad like many others that have gone to see this before me... i am saddened by the realization that these people have hardened themselves to the spirits still quiet voice... they believe in something much like we believe in God... but... only one of us can be right...

Merry CHRISTmas...

Wow, that is a beautifyl tree. Too bad about the signs...what's so wrong about having a nativity tree where there is a CHRISTmas tree? Senseless.

Next time you are down this way, check out the nativity scene at 1101 2nd Ave SW, Tumwater. Big. Central. Glorious. I want one just like it for my front yard! :)

It is sad about the sign, but I just keep thinking how much media attention it is getting and how "Chirst" is getting attention something I am sure they didn't want when they posted the sign.
